About DBL
Transforming lives from the
inside out, one step at a time.
At Da Bright Lifestyle (DBL), we believe in empowering young lives, illuminating brighter futures, and transforming communities from the inside out. Founded in 2010 by Ruth King, DBL is a faith-based organization committed to supporting young people and families to overcome challenges, thrive, and achieve their full potential.
Our Story
The journey of DBL began when Ruth King while pursuing her undergraduate degree, volunteered with young people in Colchester. She observed the difficulties they faced—unhappiness, lack of motivation, emotional struggles, and the absence of positive role models—all preventing them from shining and living fulfilled lives. Driven by a passion to bring change, Ruth started mentoring young people one-on-one and in group settings.
Upon graduating and moving to London, Ruth continued her work, expanding her impact through programs like prison interventions and group mentoring. What began as small-scale mentoring has now grown into a global movement for youth and families.
